The Virginia Offshore Wind Team hosted concurrent policy discussions on workforce development and business incentives as part of BVG Associates’ work on the Commonwealth’s supply chain and service industry analysis.
The team has been working closely with workforce and economic development experts as well as Hampton Roads-based maritime asset holders to better understand how Virginia can improve its attractiveness to the offshore wind supply chain.
The input from the policy discussions will inform BVG Associates as they consider recommendations for the forthcoming offshore wind supply chain report due in October. This effort has been a collaborative process. The Virginia Offshore Wind Team hope to keep the dialogue among all stakeholders open, as the October report is an early step toward Virginia realizing its potential with the offshore wind industry.
